Bluetooth is built into every Wonder Phone variant — the L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone and the VAAD Hakehilos-approved Wonder Star alike. You can use it to connect wireless headphones, portable speakers, and your car's audio system for hands-free calling and music playback.

Opening Bluetooth Settings

Go to Settings > Connected devices and select Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth on if it is not already enabled. The phone will begin scanning for nearby devices.

Pairing a New Device

  1. Put your headphones, speaker, or car system into pairing mode. (Refer to that device's instructions — this usually involves holding a button until an indicator light flashes.)
  2. On the Wonder Phone, go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth.
  3. The device should appear in the list of available devices. Select it and confirm the pairing if prompted.
  4. Once paired, the connection is saved. The next time Bluetooth is on and the device is in range, they will reconnect automatically.

Common Uses

  • Headphones and speakers — After pairing, audio from the Music app plays through the connected device. Calls also route through Bluetooth headphones that support hands-free profiles.
  • Car audio (hands-free calling) — Pair the phone with your car's Bluetooth system the same way. Calls will ring and play through the car speakers. On L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phones, Android Auto provides additional in-car integration; the Wonder Star does not include Android Auto.
  • File transfers — Bluetooth can also be used to transfer files (such as music or contacts) between the Wonder Phone and a computer or another device that supports it.

Faster Connecting (Beta)

In beta now (v1.6.0.022): in Bluetooth settings you can tap a device once to connect — previously this took two taps. This is rolling out to beta testers now and will reach all users in the next stable release — see Joining the Wonder Phone Beta Program.

Known Issue: Files Transferred via Bluetooth

When transferring a large number of files over Bluetooth at once, some pictures may appear half gray or blank in the Photos app. The image data is intact — the display catches up on its own within a day or two. Restarting the phone speeds up the process. If file transfers freeze, deleting the files transferred just before the freeze started typically resolves it.

When Bluetooth Won't Stay Paired

If a device won't connect, won't stay paired, or keeps dropping the connection — and unpairing/re-pairing hasn't fixed it — reset the phone's Bluetooth and network state:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Reset Options.
  2. Tap Reset Network, Mobile & Bluetooth.

This clears every paired Bluetooth device and resets the network stack. You'll need to pair your devices again afterward, but persistent Bluetooth issues are usually cleared up by this reset.

Variant Notes

  • Wonder Phone (L'Maaseh-approved) — Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Waze are all available.
  • Wonder Star (VAAD Hakehilos-approved) — Bluetooth is available. Android Auto and Waze are not included on the Wonder Star.
