The Music app comes pre-installed on every Wonder Phone variant — both the L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone and the VAAD Hakehilos-approved Wonder Star. It plays audio files stored locally on the phone. There is no streaming, no internet radio, and no app store to download music from; all audio must be transferred to the phone directly.
Transferring Music to the Phone
The recommended method is a USB cable connection to a computer:
- Plug the phone into your computer using the included charging cable.
- On the phone, go to Settings > Connected Devices > USB and select File Transfer. (On phones running v1.5.8 or later, plugging into a computer starts file transfer mode automatically.)
- The phone will appear as a drive on your computer.
- Copy your audio files into a folder on the phone's storage. Keeping them in a dedicated music folder makes them easier to find.
- Safely eject the phone and unplug the cable.
Music files can also be transferred wirelessly over Bluetooth if your computer or another device supports it.
The phone has 16 GB of built-in storage, shared across all files, photos, and other content.
Opening the Music App
Tap the Music icon on the home screen, or navigate to it with the D-pad and press the center button. The app will display the audio files it has found in your phone's storage.
Playing Music
Select a track from the library and press the center button to begin playback. Playback controls let you pause, skip, and adjust volume. You can also listen through Bluetooth headphones or a Bluetooth speaker using the phone's built-in Bluetooth support.
Now Playing Queue
As of v1.5.2, the Music app includes a Now Playing Queue. From the queue view you can see all tracks lined up, remove individual songs, or jump directly to any track in the list.
New in Beta (v1.6.0.022)
The Music app gains several additions for beta testers:
- Playlists — create your own playlists and play them back.
- A new Files tab for browsing your music by file.
- A scroll-bar for fast scrolling through a large library.
- Faster loading when adding new music to the phone.
These features are rolling out to beta testers now and will reach all users in the next stable release — see Joining the Wonder Phone Beta Program.
Add-Ons (Third-Party Music Players)
Starting with v1.5.8, the Add-ons feature lets you choose a third-party offline music player as an alternative to the built-in Music app. This option appears within the Add-ons section of the phone's settings. Any third-party player available through Add-ons has been reviewed and approved — no sideloading or app store is involved.
Variant Notes
The Music app is available on all four variants: Wonder Phone Talk, Text & Features; Wonder Phone Talk & Features; Wonder Star Talk & Text; and Wonder Star Talk Only. There are no variant-specific differences in the Music app itself.
