The Files app comes pre-installed on every Wonder Phone variant — both the L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone and the VAAD Hakehilos-approved Wonder Star. It gives you access to everything stored on the phone's 16 GB of built-in storage, including photos, audio files, documents, and .vcf contact exports.
Opening the Files App
Tap the Files icon on the home screen, or navigate to it with the D-pad and press the center button. The app displays the files and folders currently on your device.
Browsing and Organizing Files
Use the D-pad or touchscreen to scroll through folders and files. You can open files directly from the app — for example, tapping a .vcf file will prompt you to import the contacts it contains (useful when transferring contacts from an old phone).
Keeping files organized in named folders makes them easier to find. You can rename files within the app; as of v1.6, files sync immediately after being renamed, so the updated name appears right away without needing to restart.
Common Tasks
Importing contacts from a .vcf file If you have a contact export file from another phone, transfer it to your Wonder Phone, open the Files app, locate the .vcf file, and tap it to import. See the Contacts article for the full export-and-transfer steps.
Finding audio files Music files transferred to the phone via USB or Bluetooth are accessible through the Files app as well as the Music app. Storing them in a dedicated folder keeps the library tidy.
Finding photos Photos taken with the Camera are accessible through the Photos app. The Files app can also navigate to those same files in storage if you need to move or manage them directly.
Transferring Files to or from a Computer
Connect the phone to your computer using the included charging cable. On phones running v1.6 or later, file transfer mode starts automatically when you plug in. On earlier versions, go to Settings > Connected Devices > USB and select File Transfer — or pull down the notification bar and tap the "Android System" notification to choose File Transfer. The phone will then appear as a drive on your computer, and you can copy files in either direction.
Files can also be sent and received over Bluetooth if the other device supports it.
In beta now (v1.6.0.022): the Wonder Phone adds Nearby Share, a system-wide way to send files wirelessly to nearby Android devices. This is rolling out to beta testers now and will reach all users in the next stable release — see Joining the Wonder Phone Beta Program.
Storage
The Wonder Phone has 16 GB of built-in storage shared across all content — files, photos, music, and notes. There is no cloud storage or online backup; all files are stored locally on the device.
Variant Notes
The Files app is available on all four variants: Wonder Phone Talk, Text & Features; Wonder Phone Talk & Features; Wonder Star Talk & Text; and Wonder Star Talk Only. There are no variant-specific differences in the Files app.
