WonderOS 1.6, released on May 14, 2026, is the largest system update to date. It delivers a fully redesigned interface, new navigation shortcuts, and a number of fixes across the phone.

Redesigned System UI

The most visible change in 1.6 is a completely refreshed System UI. Notifications and Quick Settings have been modernized and fully optimized for button navigation. Shortcut apps — previously accessible only within the Home app — are now available system-wide.

How to access the panels:

  • Notifications: Swipe down from the top of the screen, or long-press the Home key.
  • Quick Settings: Swipe from the left edge, or double-press the Options button.
  • Shortcut Apps: Swipe from the right edge, or triple-press the Options button.

Button and swipe navigation has also been improved throughout the system.

New Features

  • Amber Alerts — the phone now supports Amber Alert notifications.
  • World Clock — a new World Clock section has been added to the Clock app, with the option to pin world clocks directly to the home screen.
  • Weather — you can now save multiple locations, and pin weather to the home screen. (L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone only — the Wonder Star does not include Weather.)
  • Home App — long-press the # key to switch between ring, vibrate, and silent modes.
  • Files — files now sync immediately after being renamed.
  • Messages — a new indicator appears for incoming messages while you are already in an active conversation. Message reload after clearing storage has also been improved.

System Improvements

  • Smarter and more reliable overall performance.
  • Stronger and more consistent vibration.
  • Plugging the phone into a computer now starts file transfer mode automatically.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the screen turned on during startup when the phone was powered on with the flip closed.
  • Fixed an issue where users sometimes could not answer incoming beeps.
  • Fixed an issue where picture messages would occasionally fail to send or load.
  • Fixed an issue where message notifications would sometimes remain after reading.
  • Fixed multiple small stability and performance issues across the system.
