The System Updater app comes pre-installed on every Wonder Phone and Wonder Star model. It is the only way software updates are delivered — no computer, no outside tools, and no app store are involved.
What System Updater Does
System Updater checks whether a newer version of the phone's software is available and, if so, lets you download and install it on the spot. Updates apply to the entire phone, including all pre-installed apps. The current stable release is v1.6.
How to Check for and Install an Update
- Open the System Updater app from the home screen.
- The app will automatically check for an available update.
- If an update is found, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it.
- The phone will restart to complete the installation.
Before You Start
- Check your data. Updates download over your mobile data connection. A large download can consume a significant portion of a limited data plan. Connecting to Wi-Fi before updating avoids overages or a failed mid-download.
- Keep the phone charged. The phone restarts during installation, so starting with a reasonable charge is recommended.
If the Download Fails
If the update fails to download, go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Updates > Storage & cache > Clear storage > OK. Then reconnect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and open System Updater again. The update may take a few minutes to reappear.
If the failed download has already used a large amount of data, contact your carrier to review your usage. Using Wi-Fi for the next attempt will prevent the same problem.
Variant Differences
System Updater is present on all models — Wonder Phone (L'Maaseh-approved) and Wonder Star (VAAD Hakehilos-approved) alike. However, updates only include features that apply to your model. For example, updates to Waze, Android Auto, and Weather are delivered only to L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone variants; the Wonder Star does not include those apps.
