When you run into an unusual issue on the Wonder Phone, support staff may ask you to dial a specific code on the keypad. These codes don't place a phone call — they trigger a diagnostic action on the device. This article lists every diagnostic code currently in use and what each one does.

How to Use a Dial Code

  1. Open the Call app from the home screen.
  2. Type the full code, including the asterisks and pound signs, on the keypad.
  3. The action runs the moment the last character is entered — you don't press send.

The codes are written below exactly as you should type them.

Diagnostic Logging Codes

These three codes work together to capture and send a log file to Wonder when you're hitting an intermittent issue.

##1001## — Start Logging

Dial this before the issue happens. It starts collecting diagnostic data on the device while you reproduce the problem.

##1002## — Save Report

Dial this after the issue happens. It saves a snapshot of the log on the phone.

##1003## — Send Report to Wonder

Dial this last. It uploads the saved report to Wonder automatically — no manual upload needed.

When to use these: support has asked you for a log, or you want to give the development team diagnostic info for an issue you're seeing. After sending the report, open the Feedback app and add a short description of what happened so the team can match the log to your issue. See the Feedback App article for more on submitting reports.

App Repair Codes

These codes reinstall or refresh specific apps that occasionally need it.

##7777## — Reinstall Waze

Dial this if Waze is broken in a way that clearing storage (Settings > Apps & notifications > Waze > Storage & cache > Clear storage) doesn't fix. It uninstalls and reinstalls Waze on the phone. Available on L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone variants only — Wonder Star phones do not include Waze. See Using Waze on the Wonder Phone.

##9999## — Update Android Auto

Dial this if Android Auto is misbehaving and clearing its storage (Settings > Apps & notifications > Android Auto > Storage & cache > Clear storage) didn't help. It refreshes Android Auto to the latest version. Available on L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone variants only — Wonder Star phones do not include Android Auto. See Using Android Auto on the Wonder Phone.

When the Phone "Should" Pick Up the Code but Doesn't

If you dial a code and nothing happens:

  • Check the variant. Waze and Android Auto codes only work on L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phones. On a Wonder Star, those apps aren't installed, so the codes do nothing.
  • Confirm the exact characters. The codes use * (asterisk) and # (pound). The pattern is asterisk, pound, asterisk, pound, digits, pound, asterisk, pound, asterisk — all together with no spaces or pauses.
  • Be sure you're in the Call app, not Messages or another text field.

If the right code on the right variant still does nothing, that's a sign the dial-code system itself isn't responding — restart the phone and try again, and if it still fails, contact Wonder support.

What Diagnostic Logs Contain

The logs captured by ##1001## through ##1003## contain system-level diagnostic information about how the phone was operating during the reporting window — things like which apps were running, error messages logged, and network state. They are intended for the Wonder development team to debug an issue and are not shared beyond Wonder.

Logs do not include the contents of your messages, contacts, photos, or voicemails. Audio, images, and personal data stored on the device are not part of what gets sent.
