Forgetting your PIN is a serious lockout — the Wonder Phone has no remote unlock, no backdoor, and no manufacturer override. The phone is protected to keep your data secure, which means the only ways back in are (a) remembering the PIN, or (b) a factory reset that erases the device. This article walks through your options.

Try to Remember First

Before doing anything else, give yourself a few days to try to remember the PIN. PINs often come back after some distance from the moment of being stuck. A factory reset is permanent — every contact, photo, and saved message on the phone will be erased — so it's worth a real attempt to recall the PIN before going that route.

If you wrote the PIN down somewhere when you set it up (a paper note, a kept-with-the-box reminder, etc.), now is the time to dig that out.

Option 1: In-Shop Reset at the Monsey Office

Wonder can perform a free factory reset for you in person at the Monsey HQ. Walk in with the phone — no appointment needed — and the team will reset it. This is the fastest path if you can get to Monsey.

Monsey HQ: 252 Old Nyack Turnpike, Monsey, NY Hours: Sun 12pm–6pm | Mon–Thu 10am–6pm | Fri–Sat Closed

Authorized dealers in your area may also be able to help — see the Where to Fix or Repair Your Wonder Phone article for the full dealer list.

Option 2: Mail-In Reset

If you can't get to Monsey or a dealer, Wonder will send you a prepaid shipping label and reset the phone after it arrives, then ship it back to you. This is a free service for locked-out customers.

To request a mail-in reset:

  1. Email [email protected] or call/text 845-200-2323.
  2. Include your name, mailing address, email address, phone serial number (if you can find it — see the next section), and a note that you're locked out.
  3. Wonder will reply with a prepaid shipping label.
  4. Pack the phone and ship it. It will be returned reset and ready to use.

End-to-end the round trip averages about a week.

Finding Your Serial Number When Locked Out

Normally you'd check Settings > About phone > Model & Hardware for the serial number — but if the phone is locked, you can't get to Settings. Try these places instead:

  • The box the phone came in usually has the serial number on a sticker.
  • The original receipt or order confirmation email may include it.
  • A previous Wonder support email may reference it.

If you can't find the serial number anywhere, that's OK — reach out and Wonder support will help you proceed without it.

What Gets Erased in a Factory Reset

A factory reset returns the phone to the state it was in the day you opened the box. Everything saved on the device is removed:

  • Contacts
  • Call history
  • Text messages and picture messages
  • Photos taken with the camera
  • Voice recordings and notes
  • Saved Waze addresses and Speed Dial assignments (on variants that have them)
  • Any backups stored on the phone itself

Items synced from your carrier (such as voicemail messages stored on the carrier's network) are not affected.

If any of this data was previously backed up using the Backup app and that backup file is stored on a computer or another Wonder Phone, you can restore from it after the reset. See the Backup App article for details.

A Note on Parental Control PINs

If you set up Parental Control (Settings > System > Parent Control) and have forgotten that PIN, the recovery is different — Parental Control uses an email-based verification flow. Send a verification code to the email you set up and you can reset the Parental Control PIN that way without a factory reset. See Parental Controls: Blocking Apps and Limiting Features for the steps.

The factory reset path described above applies to the main device PIN that unlocks the phone itself.

Variants

This applies to all Wonder Phone variants — the L'Maaseh-approved Wonder Phone and the VAAD Hakehilos-approved Wonder Star — and to both Talk+Text and Talk-Only models. The lockout behavior and reset procedure are identical across all four.
